The Workers' Bible - from Friday 4th till Sunday 13th
The Workers' Bible is a collection of stories, inspired by Italian folklore and refashioned to create absurd and unique characters a classical pig who wants wings, Adam and Eve who begins life in a pea pod, a dung beetle who outsmarts an eagle, an eagle who is charmed into laying her eggs in Gods lap and a God who is not quite able to keep pace.
In all this ridiculous absurdity, these characters present to us the most primal of human behavior -desire, ambition, vengeance, power play and crafty ways to get around the system.

The Incredible Mullah Nasruddin - Wednesday 9th @ 19.30
A young school boy had the strange power to captivate his classmates with his stories. So enraptured were they with the magic of his words that their schoolwork suffered. The teacher, a sage, could not prevent the magnetism working, so he modified it. He put a spell on the young boy: ``From now, however wise you become, people will always laugh
at you. From now, whenever one of your tales is told, people will feel compelled to tell them until at least seven have been recited.``
And sure enough, centuries after the school boy grew up to become Mullah Nasruddin, his stories to this day have a compelling effect the world over. His appeal is universal and timeless and his tales witty and wise. As the Mullah would say: ``Enjoy yourself, or try to learn you will annoy someone.``

Venus in fur | David Ives - Friday 14th & Saturday 15th @ 20.00
In David Ives' seductive, darkly funny, Venus in Fur, a playwright-director, Thomas, has written an adaptation of Leopold von Sacher - Masoch's classic erotic novel Venus in Fur, the story of an obsessive relationship between a man and the mistress to whom he becomes enslaved. At the end of a long day in which the actresses Thomas auditions fail to impress him, in walks Vanda, very late and seemingly clueless, but she convinces him to give her a chance. As they perform scenes from Thomas's play, the lines between writer, actor, director, and character begin to blur. An unsettling drama, a playful comedy, Venus in Fur also constitutes a masterful exploration of the art of acting- onstage and off.
