Sthaniya Sambaad is a film on Calcutta that constantly juggles between the real and the hallucinatory, between serious observations and wry humour, between familiarity and unexplored spaces of human existence. By doing so, it largely achieves what the makers had set out to do — a film on Calcutta —a city which is the nostalgia that we carry with us. This film has won the Best Feature Film award at the New York Indian Film Festival, 2011.
