Infinite Souls Farm & Artists Retreat has announced the finalists for the first-ever All India FingerStyle Guitar Competition. The response has been overwhelming. It was a difficult decision, but German maestros Peter Finger and Claus Boesser-Ferrari along with Bangalore's own Konarak Reddy whittled the 67 entries from all over the country down to 5 fortunate finalists - Rhythm Shaw (Kolkata), Manan Gupta (Mumbai), Devkinandan Patel (Ahmedabad), Joey Sharma (Nagaland/Bangalore), Taba Chake (Arunachal Pradesh). The winner will be selected by the same distinguished jury after a LIVE performance B Flat on August 24, 2014.
In an exciting last-minute development, the judges decided to honour the Bangalore tradition of guitar playing with a Best of Bangalore award, which the Goethe-Institut is supporting. Playing LIVE on the same evening at B Flat for this award are some of Bangalore's most versatile and gifted guitarists including Arjun Chandran, Ramanan Chandramouli, Ryal Sequeira, Ritwik Bhattacharya, Sidhanth Jain, Imli Imchen, Aren Longchari and Akash Murthy.
