Ruchira will talk about her journey in the arts which began as a student, organising concerts and performances. Later on, she quit her job as a chartered accountant to follow her heart and explore the world of the arts further. As she was homeschooling her children, she saw herself sharing experiences and engaging them in artistic activities. She then decided to launch Think Arts to extend these experiences to other children as well. The evening will also be interspersed with interesting tales from her travels, including a five-week trip this summer across festivals in Europe - Ruhrtriennale in Germany, Edinburgh festival in the UK, Ibsen festival in Norway and a few others where she wrote a blog to share her experiences with her children. She will also speak about her latest project which invites children to create an installation of their own.
Ruchira Das is an arts administrator who quit her Chartered Accountancy career to become an educator in the arts. In 2013, she launched Think Arts to present and produce imaginative and out-of-the-box art experiences for children through performances and workshops.
