The detuned television flickers grey, waiting to be flooded with colour, waiting for the image. Grey as no image, is a shrinking violet, shy and indecisive, caught in the shadows almost unnoticed. You can travel from it to black or white. Neutral, it does not shout its presence. Unlike red, which creates noise on video, this detuned grey is source of light, contradicting Wittgenstein’s remark that ‘Whatever looks luminous does not look grey.' — Derek Jarman, Chroma. A Book of Color, 1994
The C(h)roma Show will run until Thursday 11 December and will be open daily from 11am to 1pm and 7pm to 9pm.
The project is organised by Marialaura Ghidini and Tara Kelton (for T.A.J. Residency and SKE Projects) with the support of Air India, Croma, Films Division, GALLERYSKE, and the participating artists.
